Overall Purpose
Targeting System (TS) is a system allowing soldiers to locate and transmit target positions.
The Targeting Systems Engineer shall be able to provide support to all tasks throughout a typical Systems Engineering lifecycle :
Requirements capture
Preparation of specifications and ICDs
Design of system / sub-system
Preparation of Verification documentation
Performing system verification
The Targeting Systems Engineer will be able to
understand / design electrical circuitry,
understand / design mechanical pieces,
design cables,
create / change Bill of Materials,
provide support to production,
perform Safety and Security Analysis,
understand & organise Environmental Qualification tests.
Key Accountabilities:
Capture of System Requirements
Population of requirements database using the DOORS tool
Generation and maintenance of requirement traceability
Preparation of specifications and ICD
Generation of documentation for specifying functionality and performance on sub-systems and components
Design of system / sub-system
Design new solution or change existing system to satisfy requirements
System Verification
Execution of verification to ensure full compliance with customer requirements
Generation of post verification reports
Product design
Produce drawings and documentation
Development of complex wiring diagrams.
Design pieces
Approval of product Bill of Materials via specialised configuration management tools.
Organise Environmental Qualification tests.
Liaise with external company when development is subcontracted. |

Key Qualifications and Experience:
Educated to degree level or equivalent in system engineering discipline. - essential
Computer literate and familiar with using normal business and engineering software applications packages. - essential
Must have previous industry experience in the design, development and fielding of military equipment. - essential
Knowledge in GPS, RTK, antenna, analog and digital electronics engineering. - desirable
Knowledge in the following domains: electrical, mechanical, environmental qualification, safety & security and production. - desirable
