Job Description
|
ROLE SUMMARY To provide Tactical Datalinks expertise in support of Defence-related Datalink and Communication Systems activities including Requirements Analysis, System Design, System Build, System Integration, and Test & Acceptance.

Preparation of Technical Statements of Work for equipment suppliers
Provision of support and expertise to Integration & Test activities Support to Informal/Formal Verification Test Activities in a System Integration Lab Environment Support to System Integration and commissioning trials at customer installations. |
Candidate Requirements
|
An Engineer with a strong tactical datalinks background is required to join our Engineering department. Responsible to the C31 Engineering Manager.The successful applicant will be working in the field of tactical datalinks, either:
Specifying, designing, and developing systems utilising tactical datalinks (particularly Link 16); or Involved in the management of the integration and test of those systems in land, air, or sea platforms.
Familiarity with the application of System Engineering within the Development Lifecycle, and use of modern SE CASE tools is essential
Adaptibility: The nature of this role's projects requires an individual who can quickly adapt to changing circumstances.
Initiative: The candidate will need to demonstrate initiative when seeking solutions to problems and meeting customer timescales and expectations. Be able to develop solutions with minimal instructions and direction.
Communication skills: Able to communicate internally (with other team members, team leader, program manager) and externally with customer/user.
Team Player: Able to support, mentor and lead colleagues.
Education & Qualifications
Educated to degree level in a relevant Engineering discipline - must Computer literate and familiar with using normal business and engineering software applications packages - must Minimum of four years industry experience in the design, development and fielding of tactical datalinks, particularly Link 16 - must Experience in a Systems Architectural or Systems Engineering role, familiar with the traditional systems engineering lifecycle - must Familiar with generating software requirements. Good understanding of state-of-the-art software architecture - desirable |
